No you are not. According to my boss, it's a solid sign of homosexuality.

I've just been seeing a whole lot more of it lately. I don't have a vice grip for a hand but at least I try to inject some firmness into it.

I agree. I like a little enthusiasm in a handshake.

I'm not sure if I'd say I'm disappointed, but it's definitely awkward. If anything I feel like I'm being an asshole and hurting them or something.

I remember not knowing how to "properly" shake someone's hand until I was a teenager.

Not something you necessarily learn from your parents, since you never shake their hands. You kind of have to have it pointed out by a stranger.

You don't have to crush someone's hand, just a nice firm shake is all.

Exactly. But then they're just sort of flopping around there, regardless who the person is it feels like I'm shaking hands with a small child who's not expecting a handshake to be firm at all.

My grandpa used to teach me every time he saw me. Before saying anything he'd reach out his hand and just wait until I got it right. Not sure if it made a difference or not, but it's definitely an important thing to know.

No. I immediately judge someone by their handshake etiquette.

I sometimes wonder if I'm crushing their hand because I have a firm handshake.

I'm at the age where an awkward "dap" is worse, but yeah, limp handshakes are bad. One use of careers class in high school was teaching proper handshaking.

My dermatologist's handshake is like grabbing a sponge soaked in pudding. It's gross...

Same, I don't crush peoples hands. I give them a firm handshake. Not a limp, "Ohhh, I'm going to hurt him, so I should have a limp one."

No, I hate limp wristed handshakes. I immediately judge the shaker.
